Copy Editing Sarah Palin(R)

I've done this before--when I get so frustrated with the lack of cohesion in a Palin statement that I actually copy, paste and edit it. Here's what she said recently on the subject of Egypt:

“Nobody yet has explained to the American public what they know, and surely they know more than the rest of us know who it is who will be taking the place of Mubarak and I'm not real enthused about what it is that that’s being done on a national level and from DC in regards to understanding all the situation there in Egypt.”

...“And in these areas that are so volatile right now because obviously it’s not just Egypt but the other countries too where we are seeing uprisings, we know that now more than ever, we need strength and sound mind there in the White House.”

Here's what she would have said if I were her copy editor (when hell freezes over):

The Obama administration has not explained the details of their knowledge in regards to the situation in Egypt. Surely the administration knows more than the public, especially on the topic of who will replace Mubarak, should he finally step down as leader of Egypt. I am not confident in the efforts of the Obama administration, nor am I confident that the administration is as well-informed as it should be or could have been when it comes to the situation in Egypt.

It is not just Egypt that is volatile right now. We are seeing uprisings in other countries in the Middle East as well. In times like these we need strength and sound thinking in the White House.

It's still not that good because the first paragraph is completely contradictory (quel surprise). First she says they know more than they're letting on, then she says she doesn't think they know enough about the situation. Whatever. The point is she's really fucking stupid.
