#Katrina10 #NewOrleans Weekend Showcase Slide Shows

#NOLA is my Adopted Sister City. That is, my mother moved there five year ago, adopting it as her city. Therefore, it became my "adopted sister" city. As a result, I visit at least once a year, and stay for about two weeks each time. To mark the 10th anniversary of Hurricane Katrina's devastation on that city, I'm posting slide shows of each visit

Progress is steady in greater New Orleans area and the rest of the country hit hard by Katrina, but there's still so much more to do & still so much heartache from what the storm and its aftermath took from the people and the place.

I love my sister city. It's one of my favorite places in the world and I'm so happy and grateful to the people who stayed to rebuild and moved there to help rebuild and make a new home there (like my mother). There really is no place like it.
