I keep picking up all of my introspective-oriented texts. I think it is because I am working with 8 & 9 year olds, my car is on its very last legs and sucking the little money I have, big changes abound around me, and I work 50-70 hours a week right now. When faced with stresses, I look to that sort of literature to calm me. Here's my current reading list:
The Gospel of Mary Magdalene (see previous post)
The unread chapters of Fictive Certainties (this counts because reading Duncan gives me that calming self-reflective feeling and he read all of these type of texts)
Siddhartha by Hesse
The Art of Tarot by Liz Dean (my last reading, using the Celtic cross, was one of those good ones that was illuminating instead of a puzzling one that seem to be baloney)
Does it help? I think so. I mean, I haven't completely lost my mind...yet.
